Was für ein Geschenk dieser Mensch in meinem Leben ist, merke ich jeden Tag aufs Neue. Wenn ich sie sehe und sie mir mit ihrer offenen und witzigen Art ein Lachen ins Gesicht zaubert, wenn mein Großvater von ihr erzählt und dankbar für ihre lebendige Ader ist, die ihn jung hält, wenn ich sehe wie glücklich meine Mama ist, dass sie wenigstens noch eine Tochter im Haus hat oder wie sie stolz im Kindergarten rief: „Ohhh, das ist meine große Schwester“. Da geht mir einfach das Herz auf und ich kann mir ein Leben ohne sie nicht mehr vorstellen… Wenn sie manchmal wüsste, wie viel sie mir bedeutet… – JH
What a gift this person is in my life… This is something I realize each and every day. When I see her, she puts a smile on my face with her open-minded and funny way of being. When my grandfather talks about her, he expresses how he is grateful for her vibrant vein which keeps him young. When I see how happy my mother is that at least one daughter stayed at home or when she once proudly screamed in kindergarden, “Ohhh, this is my bigger sister,” it truly makes me happy, and I can’t imagine a life without her… If she only knew what she means to me… – JH

Mein Geburtstag!! Ich kann so viele Süßigkeiten essen und alles machen was ich will, mit Freunden spielen, das wäre toll! Weil da bekomme ich Geschenke, Kuchen und Muffins.

Ohh how sweet (I say as a sister)! What would a perfect day be like for you?
My birthday!! I am allowed to eat as many sweets as I want and I can do whatever I want and play with my friends. That would be great because this day is when I get presents, cakes, muffins and I can eat as many sweets and fries as I want.

Eat sweets, throw tomatoes at our house, watch TV for 10 years and leave mommy and daddy in the trash can for 100 years.
Als ich sie an ihrem ersten Schultag fragte was denn das Schönste an dem Tag war, antwortete sie grinsend: Die Hausaufgaben. Ich war einfach nur verblüfft und fragte mich warum ich nicht auch manchmal meine Pflichten des Alltags als das Schönste ansehen könnte? Warum nicht einfach mal hinnehmen und dankbar sein, dass es eigentlich ein Privileg ist, wie viele Möglichkeiten wir haben?
On her first day of school I asked her what had been the most beautiful thing that happened during that day, and she responded smiling, “The homework.” I was surprised and asked myself why I can´t see my duties and tasks in my day-to-day life as the most beautiful things? Why don’t we just accept what we have to do and be grateful that it actually is a great privilege to have so many opportunities?
